Indian Community

1.Jordan is home to approximately 15,000 Indians. Most of them are employed in the garment sector while others are employed in construction and manufacturing sectors, fertilizer companies, universities, IT, financial companies and multilateral organizations. Indian investments in Jordan’s private and public free zones amounts to approximately JD one billion.

2.Jordan has liberalized visa regime for Indian nationals. Indian tourists visiting Jordan gets 'visa on arrival' subject to standard procedures and checks.

3.The Embassy of India in Jordan is actively working with the authorities concerned to address the grievances brought to its notice and extend all possible assistance and care to all Indians in Jordan. The Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) is aimed at assisting Indian nationals in times of distress and emergency and it has found to be effective and useful. The embassy also acts as a nodal point for Indians visiting/transiting Jordan. Any Indian national who is in distress may contact the Embassy and Embassy would extend all possible services to resolve their issues .
